Think Kid, Think!

Humor.
Empathy.
Logic.
Passion.

What more can you ask for in a person?

But what less can you accept?

My mission is to inspire kids to embrace these four values. My personal medium is poetry, which you'll find peppered throughout this space. I hope that you enjoy it, and, if you like it, share it. Mostly, though, I encourage you to reach out to kids in your own way. If we really expect them to lead the world someday, they are going to need a lot of HELP.

New Poem: There’s Mold in Our Shower

There’s Mold In Our Shower
by Ed DeCaria

There’s mold in our shower, it’s grown by the hour,
I’m practically covered in green.

The tiles are fuzzy, the curtain is skuzzy,
I’m warning you: it’s quite a scene.

The soap and shampoo left a thick residue so
I don’t feel especially clean.

I’d hoped to feel better, but now I’m just wetter
And dirty and moody and mean.

I’m certain I’m not the first or last to be grossed out by the presence of mold or mildew in the shower. One particular time I recall being so disgusted that I hopped out, grabbed a bathing suit and a scrub brush, and didn’t stop cleaning until I had ripped the decayed strips of caulking out.  Thought this poem captured the mood quite well.

Got any funny shower stories?
